Extended collaboration to build more outdoor basketball courts in Sweden

 

Swedish Basketball Federation and Bergo Flooring are extending their successful partnership for another three years to build more outdoor basketball courts across Sweden. To date, the collaboration has resulted in the construction of around 40 new courts, creating spaces where children and young people can meet, be active, and develop their interest in basketball.

– "By building more outdoor basketball courts across Sweden, we are creating spaces where young people can gather, stay active, and develop their passion for basketball," says Mats Elsnitz, Development Manager at Swedish Basketball Federation.

Bergo Flooring’s sport surface, Bergo Ultimate, is specially designed for outdoor use. The surface, approved by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), offers optimal bounce, friction, and flexibility. Additionally, it is easy to install without the need for glue or screws and can be laid on most hard surfaces.

We want to promote physical activity, and by providing a surface that can be installed in just a few hours, we hope more people will discover the opportunities for spontaneous sports. Through the 3x3 format, basketball becomes even more accessible as it can be played on small courts, almost anywhere. Swedish Basketball Federation and Bergo Flooring aim to build more courts, refurbish existing ones, and bring the sport to unexpected places in collaboration with municipalities, clubs, and property owners.

– "Basketball is a fantastic and inclusive sport. Our goal is to make 3x3 basketball more accessible to as many people as possible.
